WE PROUDLY PRESENT KATHRYN RYAN, DO

Family and Aviation Medicine

Passionate about preventative health care and exercise as medicine, Dr. Ryan believes in treating the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Known for her gentle nature and nurturing instincts, Dr. Ryan enjoys caring for a full spectrum of patients from infants to elders.

A graduate of Boston’s Simmons College, Dr. Ryan initially received a degree in Studio Art. After running a wine store in Boston for two years, the draw of Alaska and family brought her back home. She completed her required premedical courses, followed by Medical School at Pacific Northwest College of Osteopathic Medicine in Washington. The end of her journey to become a physician was realized at the Alaska Family Medicine Residency Program at Providence where she graduated at the top of her class. After working as a hospitalist and doing locums throughout the state of Alaska, she jumped on the opportunity to join IPMS in 2016.  Coming from an aviation family, she now holds the designation of Senior Aviation Medical Examiner and enjoys meeting pilots from across the state. Dr. Ryan is known for her strong diagnostic skills and leadership working with a wide variety of specialists.

Like most Alaskans, Dr. Ryan enjoys many outdoor pursuits such as skiing, biking, fishing, and hiking. She also loves cooking with sourdough, gardening, and spending time with her husband, Ryan, their three children, Duncan, Olivia, and Skylar, and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Piper Cub.

Dr. Ryan is currently accepting new patients.
